Objectives For Beach Lesson
Brain Activation
1: To create the Alpha state in the Ss through the use of relaxing breathing exercises, suggestion, music and the positive attitude of the T.
2: To achieve whole brain learning by activating both brain hemispheres through the use of music and pictures.

3: To ease the Ss into the reading of the text through a carefully thought out lesson structure.

To encourage experiential reading of the text through the use of
“reader response” (Ali, 1994. Cited in Tomlinson, 1998: 304) activities
which “focus on the reader’s contribution to the meaning of the text”. (Martinez,
1998).
Accessing Authentic Texts
5: To show the Ss that they CAN access authentic English Literature.
6: To present techniques that can be used to help understand and respond to authentic texts.
